Flowers in our hair?

Pat and I have just arrived in San Francisco to visit Laura and Arend.  We left Brisbane at 11am on Wednesday 15th June, and arrived in San Francisco at 11am on the same day, local time.  Our 15th June has lasted for 41 hours, out of which I have spent only four of them asleep.  Hope to catch a few more hours sleep soon, ready to start 16th June, which has been a long time coming.
Our trip over passed comfortably, if a little squashed.  Pat commented that airline food has passed from first class restaurant quality to second class bistro quality – but as long as we’re moving from A to B, I’d be happy to bring a packed lunch.
It  was wonderful to see Laura and Arend again.  Laura zips through the traffic on the “wrong” side of the road with great confidence and competence.  I was sitting in the front seat, on the right hand side of the car, feeling very exposed with no steering wheel between me and crazy speeding traffic.  I couldn’t do any steering, but I did a lot of braking!
Laura and Arend live in a very pretty, hilly neighbourhood with superb views.
