Trafalgar Square

Saturday, 21st September, 2019.
I paid another visit to Trafalgar Square.  Nelson was still on his column.

I paid another visit to the National Gallery.

I visited van Gogh's Sunflowers, which I used to do whenever I could when I lived in London.
"Van Gogh associated the colour yellow with hope and friendship.  He suggested that his four Sunflowers canvases ... express 'an idea symbolising gratitude.'" (From the blurb beside the picture.)

"A Wheatfield, with Cypresses"  (Vincent van Gogh, 1853 - 1890).
I had a postcard of this picture on my bedroom wall at Jarvisfield when I was about 13. It's always been special to me.
