Breakfast in Amman 18.05.2010

Breakfast 1

First course, clockwise from the top:

Watermelon, apple and cinnamon yoghurt, honey yoghurt (should be called blueberry yoghurt), pistachio nuts, fig, hommus (I put that into the first course by mistake) with apricots in the middle. The orange juice comes from a large machine with oranges in it. You press a button and watch the oranges being crushed and out comes the juice into your glass – similar to the machine Anna worked with at Clayfield, only here you can see that the oranges are in good condition. Note the Jordan Times (English version) with a picture of King Abdullah 11 on the front.

Breakfast 2

Second course:

Mint leaves, cucumber, olives, orange cheese, roasted eggplant, roasted capsicum, mushrooms with spinach, hommus (in its right environment this time), something green, something with dukkah on it and tahina in the middle. Eaten, of course, with traditional flat bread.

As you can imagine, breakfast lasted us all day, with just a small snack in the evening. How will I ever adjust to not having figs and pistachios for breakfast?
