There was some problem with going to Chisa’s place at Miyama-cho by bus, so Chisa arranged for us to go by “long-distance discount taxi”, which worked out to be very reasonable for us. We felt quite special when the shiny black taxi and uniformed driver arrived in our narrow street, where we rarely saw a car at all. Our driver was quite delightful and pointed out items of interest all the way.
It was another beautiful day, and the drive out of Kyoto was very pretty as cherry blossom season was still in full swing:
Past a temple.
When we arrived at this spectacular hill, the driver pulled over and ran to show me a spot where I could take the best shot of these flowering trees.
In a little over an hour we arrived at Chisa’s place up in the mountains of Miyama-cho, after a very pleasant drive.
