To anyone visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, I would make the suggestion that you visit the museum before the Peace Park, rather than the other way around. I found the museum to be quite confronting and disturbing, while the Peace Park hopefully shows the way beyond war and aggression towards peace and understanding.

The upper floor of the museum includes items salvaged from the aftermath of the explosion. Here are some pictures taken in the museum:
This was perhaps the most poignant of all the exhibits for me – a watch which stopped at 8.15 on the morning of 6th August, 1945, the minute when the bomb exploded.
Some of the cranes actually folded by Sadako. They are so tiny!
Many world leaders have left messages at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.
