Laura and Arend’s Wedding

Saturday, 3rd August, 2013.

The guests all assembled on the lowest deck of the lodge overlooking the beautiful alpine valley, with the Mariachi band playing traditional lively Mexican music.  Then, the band stopped playing for a moment, and all eyes were turned upwards as the bridal party made their descent from the top level down three flights of stairs.  (This had required some practice.)  First came the bridesmaids Kirsty and Anna, then Laura with her very proud parents.  The band played Mexican music as the bridal party descended the stairs, then broke into “Here Comes the Bride” as Laura entered the ceremony deck.

After the ceremony, photos were taken while the guests enjoyed drinks and delightful nibblies. In keeping with the Mexican theme, a Taco Truck arrived for dinner.  A photo booth was installed where guests could pose (however they liked) and write good wishes for Laura and Arend.  These photos and messages were compiled into a book which will provide laughs for many years to come.

Then there were the speeches:  Julian, Arend, Kirsty and Pat gave short but meaningful speeches, to much applause from the guests.

Laura and Arend cut their Mexican-themed cake, made by Anna, and the dancing began.
