Staying here for four nights, we became very attached to this hotel, and to Phnom Penh in general.
The hotel gave the endearing impression of being past its prime (like us), and had its foibles, like unreliable internet. But the staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, the breakfasts were unsurpassed, and the hotel was quiet and comfortable, with spectacular views across the Mekong.

Pat was very taken by this notice. He felt that a similar notice in English would be much more to the point and not nearly so deferential.
Looking out our window during the day (as opposed to at sunrise), you could see the rain falling on the other side of the Mekong. Locals would come to this park at dawn to chat and exercise or prepare for the day with tai chi beside the river.

Around the pool are various bas-reliefs and statues, although at this stage I haven’t worked out whether they are copies of original ones, or just done in a similar style:
