Gooloogong, NSW.

As we drove into Gooloogong, between Forbes and Cowra, we came across this abandoned stone church.

Lying on my stomach on the ground trying to photograph some of the pretty yellow flowers into my foreground, I saw – and heard – quite a lot of bees.  That was the end of that floral foreground.

Gooloogong also had a slab hall, opened in 1938.

GOOLOOGONG was known as GOOLAGONG until 1924, when, despite strong objections, the spelling was changed, with the opening of the railway line.
For many years, Gooloogong was a busy railway town, but with declining use, the station was finally closed in 1979.

The sign from the former railway station was salvaged and erected in a local park.
