On our first full day in Paris, we set off confidently to go to the Louvre by Metro. When we arrived at the station, there was already a train there, with its doors open, and a lot of concerned people waiting for something to happen. Finally there was an announcement that it was going, so we hopped on, off it went to the next station, then it turned around and came back again. Most peculiar.
We had met up with a young Portuguese couple, Ana and Carlos, who were also planning to go to the Louvre. We all hopped off at the station where we had hopped on and worked out a new plan of attack which involved walking to another station on a different line, and then quite a few changes, but we finally arrived.
