Gorge Walk, Crete.

Some time ago, there was severe flooding in Crete, which caused considerable damage.

Phil took Ilona, Roy and me for a walk in the gorge made by the local small river, now completely dry.

An uprooted tree was a stark reminder of the force of the flood water rushing down the narrow gorge.

The sun was shining on the cliffs above, but it was quite dark down where we were.

Darkness fell quite quickly, and we came back by torch light.
